MR. TARUN SHARMA, CHAIRPERSON (NON-EXECUTIVE)

Mr Taun Sharma is Deputy Managing Director of India Exim Bank. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief Financial Officer of India Exim Bank and also lead India Exim Bank’s technology initiatives. He has over two decades of global experience in trade, competitiveness, industry and infrastructure development and policy.
Prior to his stint as the CFO, Mr. Sharma was heading the India Exim Bank’s New Delhi Office, with responsibilities covering structuring finance for enhancing capability of Indian companies; supporting socio-economic development projects in partner countries; handling government affairs and contributing to policy formulation. During this time, Mr. Sharma was also responsible for launching a new initiative ‘Ubharte Sitaare Programme’ to identify enterprises that have latent potential by way of technology, product or process, and support them through a mix of debt, equity, and technical assistance.
Mr. Sharma has, over the past two decades, worked across various functional groups across India Exim Bank, including policy business, strategy formulation and a stint as the Executive Assistant to the Chairman. He has also served as India Exim Bank’s Resident Representative (Americas) based in Washington DC, followed by a stint as a consultant with the World Bank’s Capacity Development and Partnerships Unit.
Mr. Sharma has authored a book ‘Project Exports: Connecting Continents with Indian Expertise’, exploring the instrumental role that project exports are capable of playing in India’s quest for a sustainable rapid economic growth. He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Pune, followed by a postgraduate programme in management studies from Mumbai, and an advanced executive management programme from Cornell University in the U.S.
Mr. Sharma enjoys reading, listening to music and dabbling in technology in his spare time.
MS. HIRVA MAMTORA, DIRECTOR

Ms. Hirva Mamtora has more than 22 years of experience working with Export-Import Bank of India (India Exim Bank). During her tenure of more than 22 years with the Bank, she has gained experience in core lending operations, with stints at the Bank’s representative offices and Head Office, covering the entire range of Bank’s products, including Lines of Credit, Corporate Banking, Trade Finance and Stress Assets Management. Ms. Mamtora has headed the Bank’s overseas representative office at Dubai, covering Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe region. Prior to the current role, Ms. Mamtora was heading Bank’s Ahmedabad Regional Office, where she was responsible for Bank’s operations for the state of Gujarat including managing Bank’s relationship with international agencies, industry association and trade bodies. Ms. Hirva Mamtora has done a master’s degree in business administration from Sardar Patel University. She enjoys travelling and listening to music. She is also associated with local NGOs, contributing towards creating sustainable future.
MR. AMIT KARNA, INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

Prof. Amit Karna is a Professor of Strategy at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). Prof Karna's interests lie in the areas of strategy, technology management, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He is the faculty co-chair of Creative and Cultural Businesses Programme and offers executive programmes on design thinking, innovation and corporate strategy topics. He has advised several organizations on strategy and management related issues.
Prof Karna chaired the Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship one of the largest and most well-regarded educational institute based business incubators in Asia. He was also involved with various disruptive startups in designing innovative business models. Currently he chairs the PGPX (One Year MBA) at IIMA, and is Chairman's nominee to the IIMA Board of Governors.
Prof Karna was an Assistant Professor at EBS Business School in Germany. He has been a visiting scholar at University of California at Berkeley's Haas School of Business, and at University of Sydney Business School. He has been a visiting faculty at IESEG School of Management in France. Prof Karna completed his PhD in Strategy from IIMA. Prior to his doctorate, he worked with Aditya Birla Group in various managerial positions.
MR. AMBRISH BHANDARI, DIRECTOR

Mr. Ambrish Bhandari has over two decades of work experience in banking and financial services. He has been working with India Exim Bank since 2007 in various capacities and locations, and is currently placed in the Credit Appraisal Group, heading the Bank’s flagship programme - Project Export. He has worked in the Bank’s head office, across functions such as corporate banking, project exports and treasury & accounts. He has also headed the Bank’s Chennai and Mumbai regional offices. Prior to his stint with the Bank, Mr. Bhandari has worked with NBFCs, and private and public sector commercial banks.
Mr. Bhandari is a science graduate from the Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, and has completed his master’s degree in business administration with specialisation in finance from the University of Rajasthan. His areas of interest include corporate credit, direct and indirect taxation, capital markets and project finance. In his free time, he enjoys reading, watching economic and political debate TV shows, and traveling.
MR. RAHUL NARAYAN, DIRECTOR (NON-EXECUTIVE)

Mr. Rahul Narayan is presently Deputy General Manager & Regional Head of India Exim Bank’s Mumbai Regional Office. Mr Narayan has over 18 years of work experience in banking and financial services. He has been working with India Exim Bank since 2007. Prior to his current role, he has worked in India Exim Bank’s head office, across functions such as corporate banking, project exports, treasury & accounts and management of stressed assets.
Mr. Narayan is a commerce graduate from the Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow and has completed his master’s degree in applied economics from Department of Economics, University of Lucknow. Mr. Narayan has also completed his post graduate diploma in banking and finance from the prestigious National Institute of Bank Management, Pune. He also holds a diploma in business finance from ICFAI. His areas of interest include corporate credit, corporate finance, money markets, capital markets and project finance. In his free time, he enjoys reading, watching live sports and traveling.
